With the birth of my great nephew and the upcoming birth of my godson’s sister, I’m excited as I open a package from fellow writer, Vivian Amis. Books are one of my favorite gifts to give family members and friends.
SS: Why did you create “Namaste” Vivian?
VA: With all the violence going on in this world toward ourselves, others, animals, plants and trees, I saw a need to share spiritual principles from the earliest age on. “Namaste” is the result of this aim and is written for children 0 – 24 months.
I am in alignment with her goal to help support parents in their effort of raising spiritual awareness in their children. In the book Bandhu the elephant, the main character, greets the Lotus Flower, the tiger and the Body Tree — and the reader: Namaste.
It’s never too early, in my opinion, to teach our children that divinity is within all living things. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. … Even after children learn to read by themselves, it’s still important for you to read aloud together. What’s perfect about this book is you’ll be amazed how quickly your child gazes at, studies, and absorbs the essence of soft book messages. My oldest daughter used to like the added benefit of something to chew on and cuddle with. She carried them around like a friend.
Thank you Vivian for teaching us all collective consciousness begins earlier than you think. Namaste ~ StephanieTweet
